Officials report two earthquakes near Georgia state line

MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (FOX Carolina) – The United States Geological Survey reported two earthquakes near the Georgia-Tennessee line on Thursday morning.

Officials said the first quake happened at 6:30 a.m. The 2.4-magnitude quake hit 11.2 miles north of Ducktown, Tennessee, at a depth of 14 kilometers.

The second quake happened at 6:34 a.m., according to officials. The 2.3-magnitude quake hit 10.9 miles south-southwest of Tellico Plains, Tennessee, at a depth of 12 kilometers…
