What began with 34 teams (22 boys and 12 girls) at three Rutherford County golf courses — Indian Hills, Cedar Crest and Old Fort – ended with to two local champions at the sixth annual I-24 Invitational hosted by Rockvale High School.
After the last ball went into the cup, the Central Magnet girls took the team title, and Blackman senior Braxton Head won the boys’ individual title over Carson Kragel of Morristown West by eight strokes (75-83) in stroke play.
“My game is at a good point right now,” Head said after his round at Old Fort Golf Club. “I have made the state as an individual but my goal for the high school season is to get Blackman boys golf to the state as a team for the first time”…
