MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that deputies found a number of contraband during a recent jail cell search, including illegal drugs stashed inside a Bible.
The investigation began after a narcotics detective told Sergeant Jacob Hibdon that he suspected one of the incarcerated men had unauthorized access to Suboxone, which is a medication often used to treat opioid dependence.

The suspect and his cellmate were then removed from their housing unit to be drug tested and strip searched.
“Both subjects tested positive for suboxone,” RCSO Lieutenant Glen Edgell wrote in a report about the investigation.
According to RCSO, Rutherford County Adult Detention deputies Tyler Al-Greene and Geoffrey Boyd then searched the cell, finding 16 pills and other unnamed contraband. Deputies said they also discovered a Bible containing rubber gloves, with 21 Suboxone strips hidden in the fingertips…
