Ballad Health — the regional health system that operates virtually every hospital in the area — is in active contract negotiations with BCBST. Those negotiations have a hard deadline. If no agreement is reached before year’s end, Ballad Health’s facilities and providers would move out of the BlueCross BlueShield network entirely.
