As a way to celebrate Black History Month, the Black Business Coalition is hosting its first Minority Business Expo at Turner Theater inside The Factory at Franklin from 4:30–7 p.m. on Feb. 15.
Co-chaired by Robert Blair and Tara Blue, the coalition, housed under Williamson Inc’s Economic Development Office, started in 2020 with the goal to address and highlight the unique needs of minority and Black business owners in local communities.
“We aim to not only celebrate Black History Month but also to showcase and uplift the diverse talents and contributions of minority-owned businesses. This event is a testament to our shared commitment to fostering economic empowerment, diversity and unity within our community,” said Williamson, Inc. CEO Matt Large in a press release.
The Black Business Coalition’s directory features more than 100 businesses in a variety of industries including fashion, media and pest control.
“We are actively seeking minority-owned businesses to participate in the expo,” said Coalition Chairman Tara Blue. “There is a deep pool of diverse-owned businesses in Williamson County, and we look forward to providing them with a platform to share their products and services.”
