Police seeking pair who reportedly stole mailbox from Nolensville post office

NOLENSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Nolensville Police Department is asking for the public’s help catching two people accused of stealing an entire postal box last weekend.

The incident happened shortly after 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4. Surveillance video shows two individuals arriving at the Nolensville post office in a Dodge Ram 1500, which police described as burgundy and white.

In the video from across the street, authorities said you can see what appears to be short bursts of light. That’s where one of the suspects reportedly used an impact wrench to twist four-inch bolts, securing the postal box, out of the ground.

“They’ve been broken into before and checks and mail removed, but this is the first time that they’ve removed the entire box itself,” Detective Sgt. Josh Combs told News 2.

Within three minutes, the pair loaded up the entire box and drove away in the distinctive pickup truck, according to police. The crime was reported to law enforcement the next day.
