RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Some parents are questioning a plan to rebrand one of Middle Tennessee’s largest school districts, asking whether the money would be better spent on something else.
“I don’t feel like they really care about what we want as a community,” said Charlie Eblen, who has been feeling frustrated with his children’s school district over the last several months.
News 2 spoke to Eblen back in November when he shared his concerns as Rutherford County Schools moved forward with a district-wide rezoning plan. Now, a plan for rebranding has him shaking his head.
“To have a school board that is even considering a rebrand when that is not going to help our children in the least is ridiculous to me,” said Eblen.

The district recently announced it would be undergoing a rebranding process, using a survey to gather feedback from the community.
“We’ve had about 3,300 responses in two days, so there’s been lots of interest, a lot of favorable feedback,” said Rutherford County Schools’ chief communications officer, James Evans.
