Local Traffic Alert: Tree Trimming on Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro to Cause Lane Closures March 4-15

Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE) has announced a traffic advisory for Murfreesboro, Tennessee. From Monday, March 4, possibly until Friday, March 15, MTE contractors, Burford Tree, will trim trees on Thompson Lane’s southbound lane between Siegel Road and Northwest Broad Street. The work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., causing lane closures.

The tree trimming is part of maintenance for the three-phase powerline. This may cause traffic disruptions, and drivers are advised to use alternate routes. Detours via Siegel Road to Sulphur Springs Road or Siegel Road to Haynes Drive are suggested.

MTE and Burford Tree will work with local police for traffic control to ensure quick and safe work completion. This collaboration aims to reduce public inconvenience and protect worker safety.

MTE, established in 1936, is the biggest electric cooperative in the Tennessee Valley Authority region and the second biggest in the U.S. It serves over 750,000 Tennesseans with more than 330,000 accounts in 11 Middle Tennessee counties. The cooperative has about 530 employees in six local offices and its Murfreesboro headquarters.
