Woman rescued from burning Murfreesboro home

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – Firefighters with the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department rescued a woman from a burning home Friday evening.

Officials said crews were sent to a home on Amberwood Circle at around 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 26 and found the home engulfed in flames.

A woman in her mid-30s was tapped inside the home while her husband, mother-in-law, daughter, and family dog managed to get out safely before firefighters arrived.

Firefighters were able to get the woman to safety and quickly extinguished the fire, preventing further damage to the home. Officers with the Murfreesboro Police Department took the woman to the hospital for evaluation after she opted not to be taken to the hospital via ambulance, according to investigators.

The American Red Cross was also called to help the family.

Fire investigators believe the fire started in the garage.
