2 arrested for robbing Dollar General in Murfreesboro

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two men were arrested Tuesday afternoon for robbing a Dollar General store in Murfreesboro.

The Murfreesboro Police Department said the two men robbed the Dollar General on Halls Hill Pike at gunpoint at around 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 30. Officers later saw the getaway car, a white older model Chevrolet Impala, and initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Northfield Boulevard and Memorial Boulevard.

The driver then sped away and crashed into another vehicle on Saddlebrook Drive before coming to a stop at a dead end on Winthrone Drive, according to investigators.

Police said the two men inside the vehicle then got out and ran away. One was taken into custody nearby while the other was arrested on Freedom Court.

Both men are facing charges of armed robbery and evading arrest and were booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
