MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man shot and killed his girlfriend before dying by suicide at a Murfreesboro townhome Thursday evening, according to police. Murfreesboro police are continuing to investigate the shooting death of a woman by her boyfriend. Police said the couple have been identified as 37-year-old Margarette Barksdale and 29-year-old James Shannon.
