Joint enforcement effort at Ky. state line ends in 1 arrest, 65 citations

KENTUCKY ( FOX 56 ) — Over the last three months, there have been more than 54 collisions reported near the Kentucky-Tennessee state line on I-65, according to authorities.

According to the Kentucky State Police, these collisions prompted a joint effort with the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office to decrease the number of collisions and criminal activities from the state line through mile marker 20.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

KSP reported that the joint effort resulted in 1 arrest, 40 speeding tickets, and 25 additional citations, including driving on a suspended license, lane usage violations, lack of insurance, and careless driving charges.

Troopers confirmed that each law enforcement agency will continue to prioritize the safety of the community and those passing through.
