Murfreesboro plans increased connectivity through expanding greenways, blueways, bikeways

For some Rutherford County residents, trails offer a way to beat the rush.

“These spaces allow us to get around town without traffic, enjoy the space a little bit more, quicker — sometimes — ways to get into downtown,” said Michael Evert, who was riding his bike on the Thompson Lane Trailhead. “Sometimes I like to park at the trailheads and ride into work.”

“That’s cause for a lot more parks. You’ve got to provide the infrastructure,” Murfreesboro resident Lisa Cooke said. “Me personally, it’s all about the pickleball.”
