Wilson County shooting suspect taken into custody in Bethpage

SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A shooting suspect was taken into custody early Thursday morning in Sumner County.

The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office reported deputies were looking for a white Chevy Tahoe involved in a shooting out of Wilson County.

The shooting happened in the 6000 block of South Commerce Road in Watertown around 3 a.m.

Wilson County deputies arrived to find a male victim lying on the living room floor with a gunshot wound. The victim told deputies he did not know who shot him.

The victim’s mother told deputies she heard her son screaming and brought him into the house to call 911. A neighbor heard a gunshot, followed by a pause, and then two additional gunshots. After the gunshots, a white man banged on her window for help and she called 911.

Sumner County deputies reportedly located the vehicle around in the Bethpage area near Highway 31E and Gifford Lane.
