These 6 Wilson County public high school students earned recognition in the first quarter

We asked Wilson County public high school administrators to name students who excelled during the first quarter of the school year. These are students they deemed worthy of recognition.

Wilson Central High School: Meredith Eller is a junior golfer who tied for first place in the region tournament, Wilson Central Principal Jennifer Ankney said. She qualified for the girls state tournament and tied for 13th place in Division I Class AA. Meredith is also an excellent student who takes the most challenging courses and is involved in extracurricular clubs.

Mt. Juliet High School: Senior Chase Carda helped organize and lead an information session for students signed up to take the PSAT/SAT college admissions exam that included a Google classroom with instructions, practice math problems and more, according to Mt. Juliet faculty. Approximately 30 students attended. Students also asked Chase if he would hold another session around the English portion of the exam.

Green Hill High School : Lily Lipscomb has been a member of the school’s choral program and drawn praise for her growth as a singer and leader. In her four years, Lily has been a member of the Midstate Choir, the All-State Choir, the Governor’s School for the Arts, student music director for theater, and captain in both of the auditioned ensembles that she is a member of. She is described as consistently seeking out opportunities to learn and lead and to help others around her to succeed.
