New builds for less money draws homebuyers down I-24 to Smyrna

SMRYNA, Tenn. (WKRN) — Rutherford County and the cities within it are one of the fastest-growing regions in the state. News 2 went to Smyrna to see what $600,000 will get you right now.

“I love Smyrna,” said Kenzie Ramsey, realtor.

Subdivisions similar to the one-off Old Nashville Highway are popping up all over Smyrna. Many are 4 bed, 3.5 bath homes, sitting on lots little over a quarter of an acre.

“We are in Patton’s Retreat subdivision in Smyrna, Tennessee.”

Realtor Kenzie Ramsey with Action Homes Realty based in Smyrna showed the sort of newly built home you can get for $640,000 in Smyrna.

“Right now, we are standing in our Watson Plan. This one is going to include our granite countertops, our custom-built shelves.”

This home price is on Smyrna’s higher-end. The median here is $200,000 less, right around $440,000.

Ramsey said that price tag is drawing Nashville commuters south to Smyrna for a new home.
