Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, Gov. Lee, alongside Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Jeff Long and Tennessee Office of Homeland Security Deputy Commissioner Greg Mays, presided over a graduation ceremony for 16 new Homeland Security Special Agents on Thursday. The ceremony took place at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in Nashville.
The addition of these agents marks a significant milestone in Tennessee’s public safety initiatives. With their graduation, the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security now has a Special Agent assigned to each of the state’s 95 counties, fulfilling a goal set by Governor Lee.
“We appreciate the support and investment Governor Bill Lee and the Tennessee General Assembly continue to make in public safety,” said Commissioner Long during the ceremony. “This graduating class is comprised of some of the finest law enforcement professionals in the nation. I thank each and every one of them for their desire and willingness to serve, secure, and protect the people of Tennessee.”
