‘Gary didn’t do nothing like that’ Death row inmate’s family pleads for governor to review case

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Gary Wayne Sutton’s family is begging Gov. Bill Lee to take a look at his case and get him off death row. Sutton has been on Tennessee’s death row since 1996. He was given the death penalty after he was convicted by two separate juries for the murders of Tommy Griffin and Connie Branam.
