Tennessee leaders react to the death of Jimmy Carter

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States whose work after his time in the Oval Office came to define his legacy as a humanitarian, died Sunday at 100 years old. He had been in hospice care since February 2023, and family members had said they did not expect the former president to go on much longer after his wife’s death in November 2023.
