Two Blue Raiders break school records at the Commodore Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee Track & Field competed in the Commodore Challenge at Vanderbilt University on Jan. 11 where multiple student-athletes recorded standout performances.

Wail Bourahli set a new program record in the Men’s 600m with a time of 1:17.78 seconds. He broke his own record from 2023 where he ran a 1:18.52 time. Privillege Chikara had a historic day herself setting a new school record in the Women’s 1000m with a time of 2:50.32 seconds.

In the women’s 3000m race, Faith Nyathi took home the gold with a time of 9:41.67 seconds. She was joined at the top of the leaderboard by Odilia Jepchumba and Sandra Maiyo who finished in third and fourth, respectively. They recorded times of 9:47.12 and 9:47.26…
