Mary Frances DeVoe, originally from Oxford, Mississippi, broke family tradition by leaving home to attend Elon University in North Carolina instead of Ole Miss. After a year in Ireland, she attended law school in Nashville before taking a job in Chattanooga, which she says is her ideal place to call home.
