Mt. Juliet Police stop theft after LPR alerts to stolen vehicle

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WSMV) – Mt. Juliet Police were able to stop a theft after a license plate reader (LPR) system alerted them to a stolen vehicle out of Nashville.

Sunday afternoon, an LPR alerted MJPD to a Nissan Frontier that had been stolen out of Nashville the previous day as it entered the city from Interstate 40.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle parked in a handicap spot at Academy Sports + Outdoors. While officers watched the car and waited for the possible suspect, MJPD said a man ran out of the store…
