If you’ve lived near Lebanon long, you have probably enjoyed a meal or 250 at a now-closed home-cooking restaurant named Frankie’s Cafe.

Most locals knew and loved the place for decades and others came from near and far to enjoy it, but its long-term lease ended and that was that. A vape shop would replace it and the family had to move on.

Sure, they scrambled to secure another location, a little spot tucked away on Cedar Street beside CashSavers grocery store and The Crab Shack. What followed became just one more struggle for the family-run “meat ‘n 3” as the new property’s need for renovation, licensed architectural drawings, codes met and more presented one challenge and expense after the next…
