Stewarts Creek set to perform at inauguration following parade cancellation

A local high school band is in DC for the presidential inauguration today, but bitterly cold temps in the area have forced them to change plans as the inauguration has been moved indoors.

They shared updates from their FB page, leaving from Smyrna yesterday and commemorating the long trip with a pizza party at their hotel.

The Stewarts Creek High School band has since learned they will have the opportunity to perform at the Presidential Inauguration event.

“In a reversal, the Presidential Inaugural Committee has notified us that the SCHS Band will perform in the inaugural parade today at Capitol One Arena,” Stewarts Creek Principal Dr. Clark Harrell said. “We are immensely grateful for the Tennessee Congressional Delegation and all the support they have given us this weekend. We could not be prouder of our students and staff and are excited to see them showcased on this national stage today.”…
