Bitter cold morning with sunshine and temps briefly above freezing today

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Good Wednesday morning. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for all North Alabama and Middle Tennessee counties through 9:00 AM CST.

We start off the day under fair skies with a light breeze from the north. It is dangerous cold out the door with morning wind chills in the single digits and teens, please dress warm and cover any exposed skin to prevent frostbite. Despite the frigid start, our warmup will begin today with mostly sunny skies and the southeasterly wind boosting high temperatures into the low to middle 30s by the afternoon. This brief window during the afternoon will be our first time above freezing since Sunday.

Skies remain clear overnight and Thursday morning lows will fall into the teens again. Thursday is likely the best day of the week as highs reach the middle 40s under partly cloudy skies. Another fast-moving cold front sweeps through Friday bringing more cloud cover, a few passing flurries and colder high temperatures in the middle to upper 30s…
