MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Mt. Juliet Police arrested a convicted felon from Nashville after he reportedly fled from a traffic stop and was found in possession of a handgun and several types of drugs.
According to the Mt. Juliet Police Department, around 8 p.m. Saturday, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the 31-year-old man on West Division Street. Officials said the man stopped briefly on Tate Lane before speeding away in the direction of Lebanon Road.

Officers had already deployed spike strips at the end of Tate Lane, which effectively stopped the man’s vehicle. He exited the car and attempted to run away, but officers used a Taser on him and arrested him.
During a search of the vehicle, officers reportedly found a gun along with various amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, mushrooms and pills. The MJPD shared photos following the incident.
