Memphis lawmakers propose bill to stop guaranteed income in Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee Rep. John Gillespie, and Sen. Brent Taylor introduced legislation which will prohibit local governments from implementing a guaranteed income program in the state.

House Bill 337 will restrict local governments from adopting or enforcing a policy that provides regular cash payments under a guaranteed income program, according to a press release sent by House Republican Caucus.
