Pedestrian upgraded from ‘very critical condition’ to ‘stable condition’ days after Murfreesboro crash

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Five days after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Murfreesboro , officials shared an update on his condition and the circumstances surrounding the crash.

According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, the 43-year-old man was brought to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in “very critical condition” on Friday, March 28 after the collision, which temporarily shut down in-bound S. Church Street at Interstate 24.

Then, on Wednesday, April 2, authorities announced the pedestrian is “in stable condition, alert, and talking.”

Police said the preliminary investigation revealed the man was wearing dark clothing and trying to cross S. Church Street, but he wasn’t at a cross walk or an intersection. That’s when he was hit by a car that had reportedly just exited the off-ramp…
