TDOT working with city officials on request for updates to intersection near Smyrna High School

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A major traffic update could soon come to Rutherford County.

Leaders with both the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the City of Smyrna have collaborated on plans to widen an intersection near Smyrna High School. Kroger is eyeing a piece of property at the intersection of Lee Victory Parkway and Bulldog Drive.

A TDOT spokesperson told News 2 they recommended widening and improving the intersection, including adding two 300-foot left turn lanes on Lee Victory Parkway. A right turn lane would also be extended from the opposite side. Ultimately, the changes would alter the flow of traffic for students and buses in the mornings and afternoons…
