NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The sudden, early closure of the Germantown Kroger has left many North Nashville residents without easy access to groceries, and city leaders are rushing to respond.
The store, located at the corner of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Monroe Street, officially closed its doors on Wednesday, weeks ahead of the original timeline. The closure is part of a six-month, $22 million renovation and expansion project. While the improvements are welcomed, the unexpected early shutdown has created a ripple effect throughout the community.
“It did throw us for a loop for a couple of days,” said Metro Councilmember Jacob Kupin, who represents District 19. “But we’re back on track with a number of resources to make sure folks have food on their tables during this time.”…
