LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Hundreds of people will be laid off by a Rutherford County fulfillment center, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
Investigation of ‘late-night suspicious activity’ leads to 2 arrests in La Vergne
Saks Global Tennessee Fulfillment Center will begin a closure process that will affect 446 workers. The closure will begin on June 4 and all separations will be complete by November 30 of this year, according to a memorandum from the director of employee services.
The Northern Middle Local Workforce Development Board will be responsible for the oversight and follow-up of rapid response and dislocated worker services.
The announcement comes months after Bridgestone announced the closure of their La Vergne manufacturing facility, resulting in the loss of about 700 jobs.
