La Vergne woman killed in crash along Donelson Pike

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department has identified a passenger killed in a crash along Donelson Pike Friday morning.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. at the entrance ramp to Interstate 40 East. A preliminary investigation found that a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling north along Donelson Pike when it approached a yellow light. Police said a Mercury Mystique turned left in front of the Silverado, causing the vehicle to strike the passenger side door of the Mystique.

Crash involving fire truck on I-24 near Joelton

The Mystique’s front-seat passenger, 56-year-old Kimberly Odell of La Vergne, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died.

Neither driver involved in this crash was wearing their seatbelt, police said, and both were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
