South Haven police chief resigns after failing to resign from role in Tennessee, city says

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. — Dennis Honholt, South Haven’s chief of police, has resigned after he allegedly failed to resign from his other role as a chief of police in Tennessee.

Honholt had been hired on April 1 under “explicit understanding that serving as our police chief was to be his exclusive employment,” according to the City of South Haven, whose officials have accepted Honholt’s resignation.
