Hot, Dry Summer Expected for Rutherford County

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WGNS) – Rutherford County residents should prepare for a warm and dry summer, as forecasts indicate above-average temperatures across the region.

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, Middle Tennessee is expected to experience a gradual rise in temperatures, with June starting near normal before heat intensifies in July and August.

The Climate Prediction Center reports that Rutherford County has a 33-50% chance of seeing hotter-than-average temperatures from June through August, with precipitation levels remaining uncertain. Historically, the area averages 79 degrees during this period, with about four inches of rain per month.
