‘Covered by the grace of God’: TN restaurant owner recovering after food truck exploded while he was inside

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Shelbyville chef and restaurant owner Floyd Thomas is recovering in the hospital after his food truck exploded with him and his daughter’s boyfriend inside.

“That man is covered by the grace of God, because he, the way that that food truck looked, they said that both of them shouldn’t even be here right now, but they are,” Thomas’ wife Cierra Brown told WSMV.

Brown said Thomas went to the truck with their daughter’s boyfriend, Tyshawn, early Saturday morning to get everything ready for the grand reopening of their popular Morning Glory Catfish Food Truck. The couple had just moved the truck, an extension of their Unionville restaurant, from Murfreesboro to their hometown of Shelbyville by popular demand from the community…
