Through a newly formed partnership between the Tennessee Highway Patrol and local law enforcement agencies, officials are executing high-visibility patrols and precision enforcement tactics to disrupt criminal activity in the most troubled areas.
The Bluff City Task Force, spearheaded in Memphis, represents a new era of proactive crime-fighting, saturating high-crime zones with uniformed officers and targeting offenders before violence can escalate. Backed by strong support from the Tennessee General Assembly and Governor Bill Lee, the initiative expands state trooper presence across West Tennessee, reinforcing local agencies and driving a statewide push to restore public safety.
“In Memphis, and across Tennessee, we are taking back our streets,” said Colonel Matt Perry, commander of the Tennessee Highway Patrol. “Our troopers, deputies, and officers are showing up in full force—one stop at a time, one arrest at a time. Criminals are taking notice.”
