21 people charged with trafficking drugs in TN

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says 21 people were charged with trafficking drugs following an undercover joint operation in McNairy County, TN.

In September 2023, special agents with the Drug Investigation Division of TBI helped the McNairy County Sheriff’s Office and the McNairy County Narcotics Unit with ‘Operation Ice Storm’ to investigate people suspected of distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl throughout the county.

Agents say on June 9, the McNairy County Grand Jury returned indictments for 21 people charged.

Law enforcement agencies that participated in the operation included TBI agents, the McNairy County Sheriff’s Office, Selmer Police Department, Huntingdon Police Department, Adamsville Police Department, Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, McNairy County Narcotics Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the 25th Judicial District Drug Task Force, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
