Bonnaroo traffic plans shift after festival cancellation; Interstate 24 closure in effect

MANCHESTER, Tenn. — Following the weather-related cancellation of the 2025 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, local officials have announced major traffic plan adjustments to safely manage the exit of thousands of attendees from Coffee County.

Event organizers and law enforcement are coordinating modified egress plans that impact both local and interstate travel. Several exits and lanes on Interstate 24 will be closed or restricted to streamline outbound traffic from the festival grounds.

Key Traffic Modifications Include:

  • The right lane of I-24 westbound from mile markers 110 to 115 is closed to accommodate festival traffic entering the interstate.
  • Exit 112, commonly used as an internal festival access point, is open to allow event traffic to merge safely onto the interstate.
  • Eastbound-bound event traffic exiting from the East Toll Gate will be routed along Highway 127, merging onto I-24 at mile marker 127.
  • Drivers needing to head eastbound from the area will be rerouted at mile marker 97 westbound, using an alternate path to re-enter I-24 eastbound.

Local Traffic Alerts:

  • Local drivers traveling westbound on I-24 are advised to use Exits 114 or 117.
  • The westbound off-ramps at Exits 105, 110, and 111 will be closed to all traffic, including locals.
  • Authorities warn of increased congestion throughout Manchester and surrounding areas and are asking drivers to remain patient as traffic flow is managed.

“All available officers are working to ease the transition and reduce delays,” the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office stated in a public update. “We appreciate the community’s cooperation during this large-scale adjustment.”…
