LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — La Vergne police are seeing an uptick in car break-ins around the city, and it’s forcing the department to get tougher on crime.
La Vergne Police Department Detective Nicholas Liedtke said the department is working to combat the issue.

“I think that’s a current trend going around all over the United States; we’re trying our best to crack down on it as much as we can,” Liedtke said.
Just six months into the new year, the department is already seeing higher numbers than all of 2024. The city witnessed 44 vehicle burglaries last year compared to 52 this year. And 33 vehicle thefts happened in 2024 compared to the 46 so far in 2025…
