COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Interstate 40 could reopen in time for the Fourth of July weekend after shutting down last week due to a rockslide and heavy flooding.
I-40 remains closed in Cocke County on Wednesday, which has once again cut off the key route between Tennessee and North Carolina just three months after it partially reopened following severe damage from Hurricane Helene.
