Tennessee-Alabama Weather Alert: Storms With Wind and Heavy Rain Possible From 12PM to 8PM Friday

Huntsville, Alabama – Scattered storms could disrupt travel and outdoor plans this afternoon across northern Alabama and southern middle Tennessee, with the highest risks between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. CDT.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, storms will move east to west across the region and may bring gusty to damaging winds, localized flooding, frequent lightning, and small hail. While overall storm strength remains uncertain, residents in Huntsville, Scottsboro, Fayetteville, and surrounding areas should stay weather-aware throughout the day.

Emergency officials advise heading indoors at the first sound of thunder or sight of lightning, and having multiple ways to receive weather alerts. Lightning strikes can extend up to 10 miles from a storm, and wind gusts may turn unsecured objects into hazards.
