NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has been the first law enforcement agency in Tennessee to opt into the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Task Force Model.
The sheriff’s office joined the ICE Task Force Model on June 24.
“The 287(g) Task Force Model serves as a force multiplier by allowing state and local law enforcement agencies to enforce limited immigration authority during routine police enforcement duties.
