Storms expected Wednesday in Middle TN, and some could be strong

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Rain and storms continue Wednesday evening, and there is a low-end risk of severe storms.

For Wednesday, the Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal risk, level 1 out of 5, for areas far east areas of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. Gusty winds and heavy rain will be the primary threats, accompanied by a very low risk of small hail.

With heavy rain being the primary risk, there is a concern for excessive rainfall that could lead to flooding concerns in our area.

Looking to Future Tracker, rain and storms will continue into the evening, most ending around or after sunset.

Rain chances remain Thursday, but lower on Friday just a tad. The weekend will feature more rain and storms.

Approximately an inch to two inches of rainfall accumulation is likely through the work week. Spots with brief downpours could have more.

This weekend, highs remain in the lows 90s. The chance for afternoon scattered storms continues.
