KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Living in Tennessee might come with scenic views and rolling mountains, but according to a recent CNBC report, it also means living in the worst state for quality of life.
The Volunteer State was recently ranked as the worst in the nation for quality of life in 2025, according to CNBC’s annual America’s Top States for Business report. The ranking evaluates each state’s overall well-being and livability, taking into account factors like crime, health care, air quality, inclusiveness of state laws and the price and availability of child care.
