KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — One hundred forty-eight people from 53 different countries were naturalized on Wednesday morning in Knoxville.
Families and friends in support of their loved ones, almost every seat was taken in the main assembly room of the City County Building of Knoxville. Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon spoke at the beginning of the ceremony.
“Knoxville is a welcoming city. We celebrate different cultures, we invite different perspectives, no matter where you came from,” Kincannon said. ” You just have to work hard. You have to do the right thing, and this is part of what you’re doing today, earning your American citizenship.”…
