Tennessee – Burgess Falls State Park officials announced that the upper parking lot will be closed while construction continues on a new visitor center and other park features. The lower parking lot will remain open, but trailers, RVs, and buses will not be allowed in either lot due to size restrictions.
Visitors can use alternative parking at Whispering Falls RV Park and Chestnut Oak Farm Store and Kitchen, both privately owned. Whispering Falls charges $20 on weekends and $10 on weekdays, while Chestnut Oak charges $10, though proof of payment can be applied to a food order. Chestnut Oak’s gravel lot can accommodate larger vehicles.
Park Manager Nathaniel Garrison said, “It’s necessary to close the upper lot for construction, but the park will have even more parking than before when the work is done.” Once completed, the lot will expand from 87 to 159 spaces, with accessible parking increasing from four to seven spaces and ADA-accessible pathways connecting the lots…
