Family displaced following Murfreesboro house fire

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — A family lost their home Wednesday night after a blaze broke out in Murfreesboro.

At 8:51 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department posted on Facebook that crews had been called to a house fire along Ridgecrest Drive. When first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered heavy smoke coming from the kitchen area in the back of the home.

Children saved from apartment fire in Winchester

Firefighters said the residents had evacuated before emergency personnel arrived, but a cat was rescued from inside the home. No injuries were reported to the occupants or the pet.

According to officials, units launched an interior attack and quickly brought the fire under control. Shortly after 10:30 p.m., the MFRD reported the Fire Marshal’s Office was at the scene to investigate the cause of the blaze.
