Heavy Police Presence Near I-24 in Murfreesboro; Subject Wanted for Murder and Kidnapping Remains at Large

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — A heavy law enforcement presence was seen Thursday about a mile from the I-24 and Medical Center Parkway interchange in Murfreesboro on Thursday, as police searched for a subject wanted out of North Carolina on murder and kidnapping charges.

The incident unfolded after license plate reader cameras alerted authorities that a stolen vehicle connected to the suspect was parked near a newly constructed hotel. Officers quickly responded to the TownePlace Suites by Marriott on Roby Corlew Lane, across from The Avenue shopping center after locating the stolen Toyota Camry.

The Murfreesboro Police Special Operations Unit, along with detectives and uniformed officers, searched the hotel floor by floor. Construction workers inside the building were evacuated during the search. After several hours, officers confirmed that the suspect was not located inside the hotel…
