MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities have identified the four Texas men who were charged in connection with a failed ATM theft that led to a deadly shooting in August.
The Murfreesboro Police Department identified the suspects, all from the Dallas area, as DeAndre Hanks, Tyron Patton, Khamondre Phillips, and Meki Hill. They were transferred from Arkansas to Tennessee in August, and each was charged with two counts of property theft involving stolen vehicles and burglary.
Deadly shooting amid ATM theft at Murfreesboro gas station
According to officials, five suspects were involved in the failed theft on Aug. 1. Around 5 a.m., three men reportedly backed a stolen pickup truck to the 7-Eleven Exxon on East Northfield Boulevard, broke a window with a sledgehammer and attempted to pull the ATM from its base with a guy wire. An armed customer inside the store reportedly opened fire, fatally shooting one of the suspects.
Officials identified the man who died at the scene as 23-year-old Tyrese Walder. Authorities said they interviewed the customer who shot Walder, but no charges have been filed against him amid the open investigation…
