Photos Released of Publix Suspect in Murfreesboro’s “Bag It and Bolt” Case

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Forget extreme couponing — one woman in Murfreesboro has allegedly taken bargain hunting to a whole new level. On September 15, detectives say a “person of interest” was spotted rolling a cart through the Publix on Veterans Parkway near I-840, casually filling a large bag with a mere twenty-four items. Now, the 5-0 wants to know the alleged thrifty shoplifters name and perhaps even her address.

Publix, a store famous for its customer service and, apparently, its runway-quality lighting, isn’t usually the scene for such creative attempts at “free shopping.” Employees — many of whom are partial owners thanks to the company’s stock program — are said to be less than thrilled about the sudden investment loss in the form of snack packs and household goods.
